Welcome to my March issue of “Hope,
Health & Humor”

Hope:
I stumbled across a new web site that is very
unique and exciting. It is called “Godeo” strengthening and
uniting the holistic community.
Their motto is “share your kindness, uncover
wisdom, meet new friends & unite humanity.”
They allow you to create and post a “profile”
for free and include a photo. It is almost set up like a
dating website, not that I have ever been on one of those things.
However, they allow people to post events, articles & let
practitioners list their services.
This is a great resource for people looking for
spiritual, mental, emotional or physical healing. Also,
writers can post articles and like minded people can connect.
Did I join? You bet!

Health: “Lots of Bull in Texas”
Stand up for your or “our” rights!
Whenever the pharmaceutical companies get worried that their
customer base is being shortened, by people gaining wellness,
through nutritional supplementation, they create a bill and they
always start in Texas.
Texas is where the “other side” had Ephedra
banned from use, first. I have personally used Ephedra
products on myself and my family. It was a wonderful
ingredient, especially for asthmatics. I know people that had
their lives saved by Ephedra during an asthma attack, after their
inhalers and other drugs failed. The Chinese have 5000 years
of Ephredra use and safety documented and I am just sick about it
being taken away.
Their only ammunition was a handful of people
allegedly died from Ephedra use in natural products. There was
no “proof” the herb was the cause, as these individuals either had
other health issues, took other drugs or consumed products that
contained synthetic stimulants and exceeded the dose by 10 times or
more, if they did use the product.
How many people have died from Viagra?
Did you know the first six months this drug was on the market there
were already 1400 fatalities reported? Has anyone taken that
off the shelf? Do you know the number one drug killer in
America is Tylenol? Has that been taken off the shelves?
How about the fact, that over 100,000 people die each year from
“properly used” over the counter medications, as reported by the
CDC, Center for Disease Control. I don’t see the drug stores
getting smaller, do you?
What’s my point? Well, there is a bill
being suggested in Texas that takes away the rights of individuals
sharing their knowledge or experience with nutritional supplements.
Only “clinical nutritionist” would be able to suggest natural health
products. This would stop owners of health food stores,
naturopathic doctors, chiropractors and MANY other practitioners
from being able to tell people about healthy alternatives that exist
in the natural health field.
I am always outraged when I see the “rights” of
any individuals being taken away and this is an example of my right
to share my health success stories with others.
How can you help? Contact anyone you know
in the state of Texas and ask them to write a letter to their
representative.
Thank you for helping to “Kill Bill”! Oh, and
no offense to the state of Texas. I was born there.

Humor: (Women’s History Month)
We’re our own worst enemies a lot of the time,
but I still blame men.
-Janneane Garofalo
The thing women have yet to learn is nobody
gives you power. You just take it.
