Elodia majored in
Diversity 101, growing up with a blended family of Caucasian,
Hispanic & Native American ancestry. Her four children are
also blended with African American.
While the common topic
is "Diversity", the focus on our differences, Elodia feels she
teaches "Proversity", the ways in which we are the same.
Pulling from the book
"Open My Eyes, Open My Soul" and sharing her own life
experiences using humor, Elodia touches people at the heart
level and works with groups to open up discussion and share
ideas for simple lifestyle changes, that celebrate our diversity
or proversity, to increase communication and productivity.
She can interview your
group or company and design a
Diversity Training or Proversity Training
program to meet your needs.
Her talks are
interactive and include activities for group participation.

"Celebrating Our Common
Humanity":
Elodia Tate took Diversity 101 growing up with a family of
blended cultures of Caucasian, Hispanic & Native American.
She has four children who are African-American. She gives
us a humorous glimpse of her life, which inspired the
best-selling book, "Open My Eyes, Open My Soul".
Learn about
her
amazing journey that took place when the idea to write the book
took shape. From the meeting with Yolanda King, daughter
of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, to the
interviews with celebrity contributors and the serendipitous
events that took place in between and produced a book in print,
just after ten months from start to finish.
Elodia chooses stories and poetry excerpts from the book that
will touch your audience, on an emotional level.
They will laugh, they will cry and they will be enlightened, to
the common threads of humanity that connect us all, making us
the grand human family that we are. Your group will walk
away with a different view of humanity and be empowered to
embrace our diversity or proversity.
This is a
multi-media presentation.
*This presentation can be customized for churches emphasizing
the spiritual aspects, colleges relating to education or
diversity in the workplace. It is also a wonderful topic
for women's groups for an empowerment topic on achieving your
dreams.

"Personality Style Communication & Diversity"
There was a
common thread in the stories, in "Open My Eyes, Open My Soul",
where perspectives were changed as the results of a defining
moment and that thread was communication.
This
workshop explores the verbal and non-verbal ways we can better
communicate with one another, in order to cross over those
barriers and find the mutual ties we have to humanity and become
a more productive unit.
Your
group will learn:
-
How to
use your body language to make someone open up to you
-
How to
stop incorrectly labeling others and how damaging it can be to
communicate with them, based on those factors.
